What We Do

Herbal acres assists people in the field of education and provides quality organic teas, extracts, oil blends, flower essence remedies, nutritional programs, on-line consultations, and much more. With an eye on achieving maximum health Herbal Acres will provide you with quality organically grown custom blended teas or extracts for whatever ails you. Either alone or combined with traditional health care you can be responsible for your own health management. Started in 1990 with just an open discussion group, we have grown to be the people you see here on these pages. We are proud to be part of the ever-growing population of folks who want to heal naturally, organically, safely.

Our Business History

Certified by Rosemary Gladstar and the Tabiat School of Natural Healing, Joanne Herp is a Master Herbalist who has been educating and informing the public on the safe usages of herbs for over 20 years. Her professional certifications also include: Ordained Minister, Reiki III Practitioner & Coordinator of "The Night Of Reiki" (2002) certification from the British Institute of Homeopathy;"Nutrition & Herbology". Past Vice-President and 9 year member of Southern Maryland Holistic Society. Also working towards an N.D. Teacher of "Introduction to Herbology" classes, Level 1 and Level 2.Currently working on a certification for "Clinical Herbalism". In March 2008, Joanne was certified as a Herbal Information Specialist. This certification was done through the American Botanical Council and covers all aspects of the herb industry, including history, regulations, trends and the science of Herbology. In part, this certification demonstrates a commitment to professionalism, knowledge of science and the responsible use of herbs. We also offer workshops and will be able to provide for you FREE on-site at your schools or work place. just call to set up time and we will bring the education right to you. Our Staff

Herbal Acres is a team effort that includes Joanne Herp, C.M.H. and many interns and volunteers that over the years have helped her to reach as many people as we can. This includes teaching classes through our local county government on the safe uses of herbs and how to create good health for you and your families. We are especially proud of the work we do with our elders, in helping them to obtain herbal teas or extracts, for those opposed to using traditional health care for those who have not responded well to the usual western medicine.
